INCITE•INSIGHT lecture:
Suzanne Bocanegra
New York-based artist Suzanne Bocanegra's performance and installation work has been exhibited internationally. Her piece When a Priest Marries a Witch, an Artist Talk by Suzanne Bocanegra Starring Paul Lazar premiered at the Museum of Modern Art, NYC in 2010 and was made into a feature length film in 2014. Part artist's talk, part performance, part cultural history, part sound installation, Bocanegra shares her journey of how she became an artist, through the voice of Paul Lazar, an actor long associated with New York's Wooster Group.
Cornish College of the Arts and Henry Art Gallery present INCITE•INSIGHT: Contemporary Art After the Studio, a series of public lectures and performances that promote engagement with contemporary art practice. Invited artists, curators, and thinkers visit Seattle for short residencies to interact with students through group conversation and studio visits. The series advances and supports meaningful dialogue on the social and cultural impact of art and the ideas of our time.
