INCITE•INSIGHT lecture:
Kristan Kennedy
Kristan Kennedy is an artist, curator, and educator. For the last decade, Kennedy has focused on commissioning new work by international emerging artists in the form of large-scale, site-specific installations and solo projects that exist at the borders of genres. She takes an expansive view of visual art; in addition to presenting the plastic arts, she organizes music, performance art, publications, and new media projects as part of
PICA’s year-round programming and for their annual
Time-Based Art Festival.
Cornish College of the Arts and Henry Art Gallery present INCITE•INSIGHT: Contemporary Art After the Studio, a series of public lectures and performances that promote engagement with contemporary art practice. Invited artists, curators, and thinkers visit Seattle for short residencies to interact with students through group conversation and studio visits. The series advances and supports meaningful dialogue on the social and cultural impact of art and the ideas of our time.
CREDITS
INCITE•INSIGHT: Contemporary Art After the Studio is made possible with the generous support from the Catherine Eaton Skinner & David Skinner Visiting Artist Fund, the Thelma Lehmann Endowed Fund, and Wah & May Lui. We thank KUOW for their media sponsorship of the INCITE•INSIGHT series.
