Mindfulness Meditation: Seven Essential Meditations

A series of seven programs exploring different mindfulness techniques, guided by Melanie Foust in Light Reign, the James Turrell Skyspace. Each session will include both a component of practice (20-40 minutes) and optional discussion. The April 8th session is "Salute to the Senses."
Her classes embrace an open approach to meditation that beneficial for anyone who wishes to develop a meditation practice or compliment an existing practice. Melanie has taught many diverse populations such as world class athletes, hospice patients, UW yogis, and Somali refugees.  
Melanie Foust has over 10 years of experience teaching yoga and meditation, and 12 years as a massage therapist. She holds degrees in Dance and Interdisciplinary Art and Dance with a focus on Public Art from the University of Washington, and graduated from the Brian Utting School of Massage. She is certified to teach hatha yoga by Shiva Rea, trained as a meditation instructor by Dr. Lorin Roche, PhD, author of the Radiance Sutras, and is a certified facilitator of the Meditation Secrets for Women, developed by Camille Maurine. Melanie is the co-creator of Radiance Sutras Vinyasa, an embodied approach to meditation based on the skills of meditation inherent to all lineages of yoga.
