Ashwini Sadekar, founder of the Conscious Creative Circle, in the
James Turrell Skyspace for a guided meditation to cultivate calm and presence through mind-body-breath connection. Immersed within the awe-inspiring interior of Turrell’s artwork, participants will enjoy a 20-minute guided meditation followed by 10-minute small group reflection.
Please note that while the Skyspace is covered, it is unheated—dress accordingly for the weather. Doors open at 11:15 AM, with walk-ins welcome starting at 11:25 AM (no late entry). After the program, consider stopping by the café, as the galleries are closed on Wednesdays.
Ashwini Sadekar is an artist, yogini, engineer, dancer, and storyteller—a fusion of disciplines that speaks to her rich and multifaceted identity. Born into the Yoga-Vedantic tradition in India, Ashwini's yoga journey began in her early childhood, deeply rooted in rituals, mantras, and asanas. She leads yoga teacher training programs at the University of Washington Recreation Center, where she has been teaching since 2019. She also runs Ashwini’s Yoga Academy, offering private classes and specialized teacher training, including prenatal yoga. Her yoga practice is not just about physical discipline but about fostering mindfulness and connecting deeply with the self. Her teaching philosophy reflects her belief in the integration of opposites: solar and lunar energies, logic and intuition, and art and science, creating a holistic approach to well-being. She nurtures a profound mind-body-breath connection in her students, integrating posture alignment, fluid movement, breath exploration, and deep guided meditation. In addition to her yoga practice, Ashwini is an accomplished visual artist. Her vivid paintings reflect her passion for merging art and life. With her unique blend of creativity, analytical thinking, and spirituality, Ashwini continues to transform and inspire her students’ lives. Learn more about Ashwini at ashwinisadekar.com.
