Held the second Sunday of each month, ArtVentures encourage families to play, learn, and create together. Each month, we experiment with new ways to think about the world through materials, actions, and collaborations. We take visits into the galleries, make messes in our studio, and meet creative people!
Take a walk through the Henry and make a game! Families will think about how they navigate the world and take mini-expeditions into the galleries and nearby outdoor spaces. Do all maps lead somewhere? Are mazes really about escaping? We’ll think about these ideas as we build sculptural board games that send players into new dimensions and pathways.
Michelle Hagewood is assistant curator of school, youth, and family programs at the Henry. Also an artist and a mom, Michelle has been making, teaching, and playing in museums for over ten years.
