Held the second Sunday of each month, ArtVentures encourage families to play, learn, and create together. Each month, we experiment with new ways to think about the world through materials, actions, and collaborations. We take visits into the galleries, make messes in our studio, and meet creative people!
This April we’re taking an innerstellar trip and dreaming up new stories, planets, and worlds inspired by our personal lives. Build a mini-book with comic artist Mita Mahato and get lost in the paintings of artist Summer Wheat as we think about the cosmos within and beyond ourselves. By the end of the session, you’ll create a story filled with adventure and new discoveries.
Mita Mahato holds a Ph.D. in English and works predominantly in cut paper, collage, and comics to build multi-layered stories. As an educator, Mahato has taught workshops at the University of British Columbia, The Evergreen State College, and the Seattle Aquarium.
