ArtVenture: Catch that Light! with Michelle Hagewood
ArtVentures, held the second Sunday of every month, encourage families to play, learn, and create together. Local artists lead workshops that invite families to experiment with ideas sparked by current exhibitions. Kids and adults discover new ways to look, make, and use their imaginations. Each month is a chance to see and do something completely new!
What if we could hold light in our hands? What would we do with it? Experiment with shadows, prisms, and more as we think about the way our eyes see the world. Inspired by James Welling’s photographs and the James Turrell Skyspace
Light Reign, we’ll create works of art that are illuminating!
Michelle Hagewood is assistant curator of school, youth, and family programs at the Henry. Also an artist and a mom, Michelle has been making, teaching, and playing in museums for over ten years.
