Selections from the Collection, in conjunction with Cherdonna Shinatra: Clock That Construct

    Henry Art Gallery
    April 15, 2017 — May 21, 2017
This spring, the Henry will host Seattle-based artist Jody Kuehner/Cherdonna Shinatra for a month-long residency and series of performances titled Clock That Construct that confront and confuse social and cultural tropes that constitute the feminine. On view in conjunction with this presentation is a selection of works from the Henry collection that employ strategies of performance and introduce a cast of characters exploring tensions between individual subjecthood, social and cultural scripts, and politics of representation.
This presentation features work by Tamy Ben-Tor, Candice Breitz, and Aneta Grzeszykowska, among others.
    CREDITS

The presentation of selections from the collection is organized by Nina Bozicnik, Associate Curator, and Krista Schoening, Graduate Curatorial Assistant.
