    Re/frame: Obstructed Views (In-person)

We tend to recognize people by their faces, and the eyes are frequently called the window to the soul. What happens when someone is captured in an image but their face is covered, their head is out of the frame of the picture, or they refuse to meet our gaze? We’ll take a look at some images in the Henry’s collection in which our view of the sitter is obstructed and discuss how that affects our experience of the piece.
Re/frame is a recurring program that delves into the Henry's extensive collection, highlighting a different group of objects each month. Join us for group discussions and the opportunity to see art rarely on public view.
