Film Screening: The Long Walk of Carlos Guerrero

The Henry is excited to co-present a film screening of The Long Walk of Carlos Guerrero with the University of Washington’s Simpson Center for the Humanities, Latin American & Caribbean Studies, the Latinx Faculty & Staff Association, the department of Comparative History of Ideas, and the Seattle Latino Film Festival.
Accomplished New York City chef and undocumented immigrant Carlos Guerrero risks everything to return to Mexico to see his ailing mother one last time. The film (2023) follows his epic journey back when he and a young migrant girl from El Salvador get stranded in the deserts of Southern Arizona. This screening will be followed by a Q & A with director Joseph Mathew and human rights activist Mike Wilson (Tohono O’odham).

This film is presented in Spanish with English subtitles.

This screening is part of the Simpson Center for the Humanities project Digital Border Technologies & Media.

    Doors open at 4:00 PM
