On the occasion of
Doris Totten Chase: Changing Forms, the Henry is proud to host a special iteration of Dance Church. Designed for people of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds and identities, Dance Church is a communal space for everyone who wants to move their body.
During this 60-minute class, a teacher leads participants in a series of movement cues, accompanied by a curated playlist of multi-genre pop music. Listen, explore, laugh, and sweat (a lot) together. All levels, abilities, body types, identities, and genders are invited. No previous training is required, but open-mindedness is a prerequisite.
Wear clothes that you can sweat in and shoes you can move in. Free ginger shots from
Juicebox will be provided!
Participants are invited to visit the galleries before or after the class and explore how Doris Totten Chase incorporated dance and movement into her work.
Dance Church™ was created by Kate Wallich in 2010. Studio Kate Wallich is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating a community of artists and the public through dance-based, design-forward experiences.
