City Wealth: Hot Money and Seattle in the 21st Century

The current flux in Seattle is unlike anything we know from our past. We used to understand the dynamics of our local economy, but global finance seems to have completely different designs on our future. Who has power, what is happening, and why? The Henry hosts activist Cary Moon and cultural critic Charles Mudede in a dialogue exploring power and money in Seattle today.
Cary Moon is an urban planner, urban designer, and activist. She co-founded People's Waterfront Coalition, an advocacy organization working from 2005 to 2013 to reclaim Seattle's downtown waterfront as civic space.
Charles Tonderai Mudede is a Zimbabwean-born cultural critic, filmmaker, and the film editor for The Stranger. Mudede has contributed to the New York Times, LA Weekly, Village Voice, Black Souls Journal, and C Theory, among others, and is on the editorial board for the Arcade Journal and The Black Scholar.
