    ArtVenture: Secret Language—drop-in activity

Are words necessary to communicate a message? How can we give meaning to and tell stories with shapes, symbols, and colors? What can we express with our own visual storytelling language? Join us at the Henry for drop-in, open hours in the Ed Studio! To participate in this ArtVenture inspired by the paintings in Math Bass: a picture stuck in the mirror, all you need is your imagination and a story you’d like to share. We will have a couple creativity stations set up with different tools and materials to encourage you to imagine your own secret language or to paint a story with your new alphabet of symbols. All ages are welcome (younger participants should come with adult collaborators). Occupancy in the Ed Studio will be limited; if the room is full when you arrive, we encourage you to enjoy the galleries while waiting.
    ADMISSION

Free and open to the public. Drop-in anytime between 1-3 PM, space permitting. Please note that as of March 1, 2022, proof of vaccination is no longer required. Masks continue to be required for visitors 5+. Read our complete visitor guidelines here.
