ArtVenture: Hidden Under the Hidden-Under - Stop-motion Animation of Secret Creatures with Clyde Petersen
What secret creature dwells inside of you? Join local artist Clyde Petersen for an afternoon of stop-motion animation in which we’ll use everyday art supplies to explore what lurks within. Drop in and design a paper puppet to think about what your inner creature looks like, how it moves, where it lives, why it stays hidden. Then give your creature life on the big screen through the magic of animation!
Clyde Petersen is a Seattle-based artist working in film, animation, music, installation, and fabulous spectacle. He is a proud member of the transgender and queer communities in Seattle. Petersen is the director of Torrey Pines, an autobiographical stop-motion animated feature film which premiered in October 2016 and toured the world with a live score. He travels the world with his punk band Your Heart Breaks and hosts the internet film series Boating with Clyde. His work has been featured internationally in DIY venues, galleries, and museums, including the Bellevue Arts Museum where he had a solo exhibition in 2019. Petersen is currently working on two new feature films.
