ArtVenture: Fairy Tale Mash-up with Lauren Boilini

ArtVentures, held the second Sunday of every month, encourage families to play, learn, and create together. Local artists lead workshops that invite families to experiment with ideas sparked by current exhibitions. Kids and adults discover new ways to look, make, and use their imaginations. Each month is a chance to see and do something completely new!
What do fairy tale characters mean to us? How might we re-imagine them? In this workshop we’ll gather inspiration and ideas from Paul McCarthy’s sculptures and work with artist Lauren Boilini to create a collaborative artwork to hold our new stories and characters.
Lauren Boilini received her BFA at the Kansas City Art Institute and her MFA at the Maryland Institute College of Art. As an educator, Boilini has served as faculty at a number of schools on the east coast and in Seattle where she has taught painting and multi-media courses.
