This presentation is the second rotation in a two-part series showcasing new additions to the Henry’s permanent collection. This rotation features paintings, sculptures, and drawings that explore ideas of space, time, and perception. Referencing spaces and geographies both real and imagined, these works invite us to consider how our surroundings shape the way we see and experience life.
Artists featured in this presentation highlight both locally and globally recognized figures, including Sarah Cain, Fiona Connor, Demian DineYahzi’, Mary Ann Peters, and Carrie Yamaoka, among others.
The recent acquisitions rotations are part of the Henry’s renewed focus using the entry gallery to celebrate and share the museum’s growing collection—from 178 works of art at the time of the museum’s founding in 1927 to over 30,000 objects spanning location, time, and medium today. These presentations highlight the Henry’s ongoing commitment to collecting and sharing artworks by defining artists of our time, including works by women, queer, and BIPOC-identifying artists.
