Welcome to contemporary art and ideas! We're excited to present a new set of exhibitions, including Donna Huanca's immersive MAGMA SLIT experience and ektor garcia's site-specific matéria prima installation. Please note that we continue to recommend masks and social distancing for the safety of our visitors and staff. Be sure to read our visitor guidelines to plan your visit. See you soon!

Museum Hours

MUSEUM HOURS
Monday - Wednesday: Closed
Thursday: 10 AM – 7 PM
Friday - Sunday: 10 AM – 5 PM

Please note that the museum will close at 3:30 PM on Friday, June 3 in preparation for the Public Opening: 2022 University of Washington MFA + MDes Thesis Exhibition.

The last entry to the museum is 30 minutes before closing time.

Saturday - Sunday: 11 AM - 3 PM

The café offers dine-in services. Please note that guests must remain masked while not drinking/eating.

Admission

General Admission: $0-20 suggested donation

The Henry is always free for Henry members, UW community*, educators, military personnel, students, and children

* Including faculty, staff, retirees, students, and alumni

Suggested donation is made possible through the generous support of Theiline Scheumann, a founding member of the Henry’s board who shares our belief in equitable access to contemporary art and ideas. This admission structure will be in place through June 2022.

Directions

The Henry is located on the University of Washington campus, roughly at the cross streets of 15th Ave NE and NE 41st St. There is usually street parking nearby, or you can park in the UW Central Parking Garage (for a fee weekdays; Saturday afternoons and Sundays are free). Enter the museum from the plaza.
Several bus routes run near the museum. Check out the King County Metro Trip Planner to find the best route for you. The Link Light Rail runs regularly to the U District Station (8 min walk through U District) and the University of Washington Station (15 min walk across UW campus). Both stations are on the 1 Line, schedules can be found here.
If you like to bike, the Burke-Gilman trail is just a few blocks south of the Henry. Turn north on 15th Ave NE and secure your bike in the rack in the plaza outside the Henry's front doors.

Visitor Guidelines

VISITOR GUIDELINES - updated April 27, 2022: The Henry is open to walk-up visitors; timed tickets are no longer available. As per University of Washington guidelines, the Henry continues to strongly recommend that visitors ages 5+ wear masks. Social distancing is encouraged. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is no longer required in accordance with King County guidelines.
The safety and health of our staff and visitors is our top priority. We will continue to monitor public and university health guidelines and will issue any changes to our policies on this page.

Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the building. Complimentary disposable masks are available at the front desk.

Photo Policy

Feel free to take photos in the galleries (no flash photography, please– it's damaging to the art) for your personal, non-commercial use. Want to share your visit? Tag us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram: @henryartgallery #AtTheHenry. At times, photography will not be allowed and a notice will be posted.
Video cameras and tripods require advanced permission. Contact press@henryart.org if you would like to record video in the galleries or have other special photography requests.
For information concerning permission to publish or to request photographing works in the Henry collection, contact collections@henryart.org. Members of the press should contact press@henryart.org.

Rentals/Partnerships

The Henry does not rent space or host external events. If you are looking for a venue on campus or in the Seattle area, please review this list of possibilities provided by the University of Washington.
