Spring into the Henry: Educator Workshop

Call for K-12 educators! Explore Vortexhibition Polyphonica, Opus II. See what’s new in this dynamic exhibition of the museum’s collection. Come look at what Henry Chief Curator Elizabeth Brown has changed. Whether subtle or dramatic the new additions will spark lively conversations about art and meaning. Educators will also embark on a compelling journey through the art of Kiki Smith in I Myself Have Seen It: Photography in the Work of Kiki Smith.
- Join in engaging discussions about the art on view with the Henry’s education and curatorial staff.
- Learn how to analyze and make associations between the wide spectrum of the Henry’s holdings: 19th-century paintings, contemporary art and photography, textiles and costumes, ceramics, and the many other art objects on view.
- Through Kiki Smith’s artwork explore ways to engage your students in discussions about contemporary art in a classroom and gallery setting.
- Take a close look at your classroom’s curriculum and find ways to infuse the art on view into social studies, language arts, history and other areas of study.
- Classroom ready art lessons will be demonstrated in the Studio. The training packet will include a CD-ROM with information, lessons and images for both exhibitions.
